Eleventh Annual University of Toronto Patent Colloquium

The Patent Colloquium is an annual tradition at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law where practitioners and experts in Canadian patent law join together to discuss advancements and trends in the field. Starting in the 2022-2023 year, the LIT Group is proud to work with the Centre for Innovation, Law and Policy to bring this event to life. From the panels to the speakers, the LIT Group has been heavily involved in planning for the annual conference.

This year, the 11th Annual Patent Colloquium will be held at the University of Toronto on Friday, November 11th. Lunch will be provided. Panels include the patentability of computer-implemented inventions, AI's effects on patent law, and the status of the "inventive concept." Panellists come from many different firms, and some panels will even be moderated by justices at the Federal Court and Federal Court of Appeal.
